Wellness is the power to live out one’s sole mission in the comfort of their own human house.

Cassandra is sharing what the word “empower” means to her with The Corporate Escapists.
Thank you for joining us here at The Corporate Escapists. Please introduce yourself to our readers. They would love to know about you, your passion, and how you came to find and follow your passion.
As a Christian Holistic Wellness Influencer my journey into health and wellness came from experiencing dis-ease. Prior to becoming an entrepreneur, I worked as a Gerontologist in the corporate world. I neglected my health and well-being which ultimately lead to my body shutting down. Becoming frustrated with the side effects of the treatment for systemic lupus I began studying health and wellness which ultimately sparked remission within my body. Once healed I became passionate about empowering women to heal their mind, body, and soul.
As a successful entrepreneur please share your viewpoint if you believe that entrepreneurs are born or made?
Entrepreneurs are made based off life experiences. Successful entrepreneurs are passionate about their business this passion isn’t something that a person can have at birth. Many people who are inherit businesses are fulfilling dreams of their families. Until a person finds their “why” they will lack motivation to pursue their business with all their heart. Oftentimes when a person operates outside their passion they become unfulfilled and ultimately stressed out which can spiral into other challenges.
Nelson Mandela once quoted – ‘I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.’ What has been one fear you have overcome?
When I began Holistic Living Consulting, I was fearful. I had only been in remission for two years from systemic lupus. Many thoughts wrecked my brain. What if I become ill again? How can I build a business with little capital? Despite the concerns I choose to push forward, and one thing is certain it doesn’t matter your circumstances with God’s help all things are possible.
Tell us what the word “empower” means to you?
Empower is recognizing the strength that is inside of you. Taking control of your life and changing your life trajectory is empowerment. When a person becomes empowered, their mind is reprogrammed. Their new way of thinking is based off knowledge gained from reading, taking courses, listening to podcasts, etc.
What has been one of the biggest business ideas you have had and how did you have the courage to implement it?
To date, my biggest business idea has been restructuring Holistic Living Consulting to become known across the world. Accepting invitations for podcasts and news stations in Australia was a big leap of faith. Additionally creating digital courses so people can have an option to receive knowledge outside of one-on-one coaching.
Honestly, the courage to push outside my comfort zone has been remembering the vision. When a person realizes their “why” it serves a motivation to keep moving forward to serve their tribe.
Running your own business can be scary. Success requires moments of courage to push through to the next level, please tell us one of the moments you have had to push through to take your business to the next level?
When an executive from a major tv channel called to invite me to share my story on television I was happy and sacred all in one. Prior to this executive contacting me I had only been on television a handful of times all on local channels. When someone invites you to a show that will be aired on CBS, NBC, and FOX it can be a little overwhelming. To conquer this fear, I reminded myself of the successes that life had brought prior to that moment. Whatever challenge that has occurred I beat it and this wouldn’t be any different.
Tell us what attributes you feel make a good leader in business today?
Good business leader has the ability to adapt quickly. The pandemic has shifted how businesses operate. Now more than ever businesses must have an online presence. Social media has played a vital role in establishing the know, life, trust factor. To become a good business leader an individual must be a continual learner to ensure they are following the best practices for their industry. Another unique quality of a good business leader is having the ability to build community. If your vision is big enough it will be impossible to carry out alone.
What is your favourite quote about empowerment?
Incredible change happens in your life when you decide to take control of what you do have power over instead of craving control over what you don’t.”
― Steve Maraboli
What advice would you give to anyone wanting to start their own business?
Do what you love money cannot be your biggest motivatiton.
What would be one (1) question you would you ask the person who most inspires you? Also, share with us about this person and why they inspire you?
What is the decision that you regret most in life and why? Michelle Obama inspires me to keep doing despite any hurdles. Although she grew up in a tough environment she kept reaching for her goals. This serves as a reminder that it doesn’t matter your background success is possible.
