As a teenager, Nick asked himself three big questions that would help shape not only his life but also his career.
Who am I?
Why am I here?
What’s the nature of reality?
Not long after, he met his mentor who would also become his life-long dear friend who inspired Nick to complete his post graduate degree in applied psychology at The University of Wollongong, New South Wales, Australia; his hometown.
Born to Italian migrants, ‘Terrone’, literally translates to ‘person of the earth’; the heart being the life force that connects our body (of the earth) and our spiritual intuition.
During his studies, Nick held a voluntary role as a counsellor and group facilitator at a residential drug rehabilitation clinic for teenagers and adults alike.
To further expand his consciousness and world view, Nick travelled the world for 3 years living in Canada and the United Kingdom, living and working both paid and voluntary roles with individuals faced with mental health issues, homelessness, abuse, and criminal histories.
During this time, Nick travelled to over 30 countries on 6 continents which helped him more deeply connect with himself and fellow human beings living in extremely diverse cultures.
Having worked in customer service as a young person, Nick returned to Australia to work in a corporate sales position, which ultimately reached a point of severe unfulfillment. Despite the advice of almost everyone around him, he left his lucrative role and made the heart-based decision to reignite his passion and purpose: to help people break free of their limitations to become more of who they really are.
Nick began working as an employment consultant with an Australian Federal Government service provider of employment services to assist job seekers with severe physical and mental health issues while also volunteering with a Sydney-based charitable organisation called Cana Communities. After a short time, he became the House Manager at one of Cana’s Inner City crisis accommodation refuges and volunteered his time in this role for over 4 years.
During this time, with only 6 months left to complete his 2-year internship to become a registered Clinical Psychologist, he discovered the power of Hypnosis and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (N.L.P) for himself. His interest in healing via altered states of consciousness immediately peaked, so much so that much to the horror of his family and friends, he gave up what to him was the ego-based goal of becoming a clinical psychologist, in favour of his heart’s calling to pursue a full-time career working with the unconscious mind through Hypnosis and NLP.
After years of helping clients get great results from what could be characterised as very head-based, cognitive, and intellectual styles of therapy and coaching, Nick intuitively felt that something was missing for even deeper levels of transformation. The answer was a return to the heart. He became a HeartMath Coach certified by The HeartMath Institute to help people come back to their heart to develop and sustain personal resilience, fine-tune their intuitive guidance, and experience more fulfilling, meaningful personal relationships – especially the one that matters the most, the relationship you have with yourself.
Alongside his clinical practice, Nick’s interest in deepening his own self-awareness continued through books, studying thought leaders, attending workshops and seminars, meditation, and direct experience with the immensely powerful world of medicinal plants. This led to a profound desire to expose the truth about one plant in particular, the Cannabis plant.
Nick is a passionate advocate for the legalisation of cannabis across the entire country, not just in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) – the home of our nation’s politicians. He has a particular interest in the healing potential of mind-body-spirit through the use of medicinal cannabis and CBD hemp oil. Recently,
Nick has synthesised his clinical experience with his interest in altered states of consciousness, the science of our connected universe, and his understanding of the intelligent energy of the human heart in his upcoming release of a unique self-hypnosis book like no other; ‘Living with H.A.R.T: Heart-Alpha Resonance-Technique’.
Nick is passionate about supporting projects, initiatives, and foundations that are close to his heart and in alignment with his vision; one being The Human and Hope Association, a locally run registered NGO committed to empowering Cambodians to create a sustainable future for themselves by providing education, vocational training, and community support. Another is The Resonance Science Foundation, a non-profit organization chartered to conduct research and education in the field of unified physics and dedicated to exploring the fundamental wheel works of nature to gain a greater understanding of universal dynamics for the betterment of all life and mankind.
Nick lives in NSW Australia with his loving life partner Aimee and is a father to a special young boy, Orion. He enjoys spending time in nature, playing different types of unique instruments
Nick is sharing what the word “empower” means to him with The Corporate Escapists.
Thank you for joining us here at The Corporate Escapists. Please introduce yourself to our readers. They would love to know about you, your passion, and how you came to find and follow your passion.
I think the answer to this is embedded in my bio above, but in a nutshell, I was lucky enough to meet a man during my teenage years that inspired me to discover who I am and why I’m here.
This led me on a journey of self-discovery, personal empowerment, resilience, and purpose, all of which I have synthesised to be of service to people as much as possible.
I am truly inspired to learn and teach techniques that can allow an individual to break free of their personal limitations leading to TRUE empowerment.
This has led me to learn about the human mind, the power of the human heart, their influences, and simple to use practical techniques that can unlock the powerful potential I believe resides in every human being.
As a successful entrepreneur please share your viewpoint if you believe that entrepreneurs are born or made?
I don’t believe this is a case of one OR the other, but both.
I believe that every human being is born with inherent qualities that could translate into the expression of entrepreneurship but that doesn’t necessarily mean it will manifest automatically.
I believe that in many cases one must also ‘make it happen’ by taking inspired action to uncover, realise and ‘draw out’ the inherent qualities needed to become an entrepreneur.
Sometimes this means meeting the right person at the right time at the right place to create a spark within oneself. Sometimes it means being conscious of the company we keep and where we spend our time, money and energy as this greatly influences what we become.
Nelson Mandela once quoted – ‘I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.’ What has been one fear you have overcome?
The one fear that has been present for a long time within myself has been the false belief that “I am not good enough”. It has been a journey and continues to be a journey, especially for an individual that strives to achieve their mission and purpose.
What I have come to realise is that even if this falsehood remains to some degree one can easily learn and practice techniques that minimise its influence as a barrier to who and what you really are.
Tell us what the word “empower” means to you?
To me, empowerment is synonymous with resilience and confidence. I don’t believe that an individual can experience one of these things without the other to being present. If an individual feels confident they naturally are resilient, if they are confident and resilient they will be empowered.
What has been one of the biggest business ideas you have had and how did you have the courage to implement it?
It has taken me several years to refine however I have come to a point in my life where I have synthesised my three essential offerings and services. All work synergistically and a complimentary to one another. One is my hypnotherapy practice the other is my resilience confidence and empowerment course and finally my medicinal CBD Hemp Oil. All three of these elements felt so inspiring to me that it did not feel like I needed courage to implement this offering, instead it felt very natural smooth and came together quite easily.
Running your own business can be scary. Success requires moments of courage to push through to the next level, please tell us one of the moments you have had to push through to take your business to the next level?
There have been many moments in the past where courage was needed to push through, but one of the biggest lessons I have learned is to except help. Often as an entrepreneur we can fall into the trap that no one will do it better than me, that I can’t rely on anyone else, but there have been instances where I had to find the courage within myself to allow others to assist me which helped me move through with ease and flow.
Tell us what attributes you feel make a good leader in business today?
There are many but here is a short list: * Resilience and Confidence * Communication skills * Intuitive guidance * Assertiveness tempered with empathy and compassion. * The ability to remain calm in challenging situations * A likable and approachable personality
What is your favourite quote about empowerment?
“Life is amazing. And then it’s awful. And then it’s amazing again. And in between the amazing and awful it’s ordinary and mundane and routine. Breathe in the amazing, hold on through the awful, and relax and exhale during the ordinary. That’s just living, heartbreaking, soul-healing, amazing, awful, ordinary life. And it’s breathtakingly beautiful.”

What advice would you give to anyone wanting to start their own business?
Become very clear on your why this will help manifest the house. Surround yourself with those who will fan your flame of desire and inspiration. Never stop learning. Have a curious and interested mind, as these mines others will find interesting, continue to learn about and develop your own mind body and spirit.
What would be one (1) question you would you ask the person who most inspires you? Also, share with us about this person and why they inspire you?
If there was one personal tool or technique that you would say has been the most powerful thing you have implemented to get where you are today what would it be? The person that inspired me the most was the man I met as a teenager who saw something in me that I did not see in myself. He inspired me purely by the example of his life how he lived in the service he gave to all people.
