Introduction
In this feature in I.N.S.P.I.R.E. Magazine, Sutton McCraney shares her journey from military leadership to entrepreneurship — and the realisation that sometimes the rooms we search for are the ones we are meant to create ourselves.
Leadership, Resilience, and Creating New Spaces
Sutton McCraney’s leadership journey began long before entrepreneurship.
Growing up navigating environments that were not always designed for her to succeed, Sutton developed resilience, discipline, and a strong sense of leadership early in life. These qualities were further strengthened during her service as a Non-Commissioned Officer in the United States Air Force, where she learned the value of responsibility, teamwork, and leading with integrity.
But when Sutton transitioned into entrepreneurship, she encountered a different kind of challenge.
The networking spaces she was encouraged to join often felt misaligned with her values and vision. The conversations didn’t always reflect the diversity of experiences, ideas, and leadership she knew existed.

Rather than continuing to force herself into rooms that didn’t feel right, Sutton made a powerful decision.
She would build the space she wished existed.
That decision led to the creation of The Flavor Room™, an invite-only ecosystem designed to support diverse entrepreneurs, innovators, and leaders who are committed to meaningful impact.
The Flavor Room™ was built on the belief that entrepreneurship thrives when people feel seen, supported, and empowered to bring their full voice into the conversation.
Sutton’s story reminds us that leadership doesn’t always mean finding a place within existing systems.
Sometimes leadership means having the courage to create something entirely new.
Because sometimes the room you are searching for… is the one you are meant to build.
