Naomi Battah – Create something truly good for the world – for now and the future.

Categories: Business, Coaching
Naomi departed an established corporate career in the medical industry at the end of 2020 when she realised that she wanted to make a more meaningful impact in the world.

She quickly discovered her capacity for helping people find authenticity, strength, joy, and fulfilling lives on the other side of trauma, and now runs her own small business. She has studied NLP, is a certified Embodied Processing Practitioner, and is currently studying Root Cause Therapy.

Dr Gabor Mate is her hero, she loves being near the ocean, traveling, and her life on the sunny Central Coast with her partner.

Thank you for joining us here at The Corporate Escapists. Please introduce yourself to our reader. They love to know about you, your passion, and how you came to find and follow your passion.

I’m Naomi, and I’m a trauma coach. I fell headfirst into trauma work while going through my own healing journey. I felt that personal development was missing something, and diving into the glamorous world of trauma quickly became my obsession. It’s so much more than accidents, assault victims, and veterans!
Bob Proctor once quoted ‘To believe in the things you can see and touch is no belief at all. But to believe in the unseen is both a triumph and a blessing”. How important is it to you to have the belief within one’s self?

You’ve seen people fire-walk, right? Self-Belief is the difference between emerging unscathed or nursing nasty blisters. It’s not about believing I’ll get it right every time, it’s about believing I’ll be ok no matter what happens. It’s also ok to borrow belief occasionally, till you find your own.
Tell us what the word “Entrepreneur” means to you?

To me, ‘entrepreneur’ is reserved for empire-building types, looking to develop industry and wealth. I’m interested in undoing the corporate, capitalist mistakes of the past, and finding people-centred paths to systems that help everyone, not just the lucky few. I’m no entrepreneur – maybe a Compassion Engineer could be my title?
What has been one of the biggest business ideas you have had and how did you have the trust and hope within yourself to implement it?

Trauma’s a heavy subject, so teaching the concept ‘trauma is not a dirty word’ is paying off. Leaning into the humorous, being candid about it, and showing people a great life is possible with trauma. Being living proof gave me the faith to implement and share it with the world.
Running your own business can be scary.  Success requires moments of trust and hope to push through to the next level. Tell us one of the moments you have had to push through to take your business to the next level?

Running a business IS scary. But for me, the thought of returning to corporate life is scarier. In those moments, I get out my own way and remind myself the universe favours the brave. I don’t want to die feeling regret for the things I wanted to do, but didn’t.
What is your favourite quote about inspiration?

“Follow your own fascinations, obsessions, and compulsions. Trust them. Create whatever causes a revolution in your heart.” – Elizabeth Gilbert, Big Magic. The whole book is a brilliant read on how to embrace inspiration and creativity. The world needs more heart revolutions. It’s time to do things differently.
What advice would you give to anyone wanting to start their own business?

1. Have an important ‘why’ – it will keep you going when it’s hard.
2. There will be hard bits. You’re doing it right.
3. Comparisonitis is a gross, icky virus – try not to catch or spread it.
4. Create something truly good for the world – for now and the future.
