In this episode I’m speaking with Carrie Kwan about enhancing the world where women led businesses become a normalised reality. I can’t wait for you to hear their story and how they created Mums & Co and will bring together women to an event called Be MPowered where they celebrate ambition, livelihood & wellbeing for female business owners.
ABOUT OUR GUEST, CARRIE
Carrie Kwan is the Co-Founder and Managing Director of Mums & Co. She is deeply passionate about inspiring women, particularly mums, to realise success in their ambition, livelihood and wellbeing. The business movement launched in 2016 is backed by IAG, Australia’s largest general insurer.
Carrie commissioned the first Australian Mums in Business Report in 2017 and hosts Be MPowered, an innovative annual business conference attended by 300 women and their children. She advocates for more investment in women-led ventures and in 2018 launched an annual national pitch competition to champion more women leaders in business and close the gap in pitching knowledge.
She is a speaker, communicator and mentor. Carrie was a finalist in the 2018 Women’s Agenda Leadership Awards ‘Agenda Setter of the Year’, included in Kochie’s Business Builders Power List 2019 and featured in the book #IFSHECANICAN. Carrie is one of three girls raised by Malaysian-Chinese parents who immigrated to Australia – her parents certainly had an influence on her in terms of her work ethic; dad being a business owner himself. She’s a proud sister, wife, and mum of two young boys.
She’s curious about most things and is always up for a coffee, connecting with people and hearing their #mumbition stories. Carrie founded DailyAddict.com.au in 2008. Prior to this she spent more than a decade in corporate marketing roles at State Street, Ernst & Young and Cap Gemini Ernst & Young. Carrie holds a UTS Bachelor of Business degree and serves on the Macquarie University Global MBA Advisory Council.

About your host, Christine
Transition and Lifestyle Coach, Host of The Corporate Escapists TV Show & Podcast, Speaker & Educator. In a past life, I was a corporate queen, earning the big bucks & working my way up that ladder. From the outside, I had it all, but I felt completely dead inside. It wasn’t until I hit rock bottom that I really discovered what was missing from my life. I realised I had no idea who I was.
What lit me up. What was setting my soul on fire? What was my passion in life? But after years of doing the inner work, I have rebuilt my life and now I want to help you do the same.
