Mangla Sachdev – Running A Business Around A Lifestyle

Categories: Business, Inspiration

I set up a Printing Business in 2020. @Printsipal Printing with my BFF in Singapore! We did this after being on the PTA Board at our children’s school and finding a gap in the market.

We hit 6 figures quickly, won an award and worked with Facebook, an Embassy and many International Schools.

With this success, I realised that if we were to move again, I’d have to start from scratch in a different country.

That is when Expat Business In A Bag started. I help other expats like myself and digital nomads build businesses they can take anywhere!

Oprah once quoted ‘You’ve got to follow your passion – You’ve got to figure out what it is you love – who you really are. And have the courage to do that. I believe that the only courage anybody ever needs is the courage to follow your own dreams.” Please share, how you had the courage to follow your own dreams.

Tell us what the word “Entrepreneur” means to you?

What has been the biggest lesson you have learned from being an entrepreneur?

Surround yourself with positive people who are a few steps ahead of you. They will make you level up quicker.

What inspired you to start your own business, and how did you go about identifying a need in the market that your business could address?

I am my ideal client. Having already started a successful business, the reality of being an expat and the possibility of moving on to our next adventure, could happen at any time.

The thought of starting from scratch once again, but this time at an older age, motivated me to find a solution not only for myself but also for people within my circle of friends.

What is your favourite quote about “following your dreams”?

It is better to have tried and learnt something than sitting on a rocking chair wondering ‘what if?’

What advice would you give to anyone wanting to start their own business?

Start small. Look at your circle, what are they talking about? What do they need? If you can name your ideal client in your network, then audience building, sales offers and everything else will be so much easier.
