As a business coach my clients come to me for three things and they all start with the letter I
They want to catapult their influence
They want to accelerate their impact and
They want to unleash new income levels
As an successful entrepreneur please share your view point if you believe that entrepreneurs are born or made?
In my point of view, there are no natural-born anythings.
And the reason is we come to this world with unlimited potential and the ability to learn any skill to achieve anygoal.
Entrepreneurship requires us to fine-tune three groups of skills
Relating, Achieving & Thinking skills
All of these skills can be learned through formal education or real-world experiences.
Nelson Mandela once quoted – ‘I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.’
What has been one fear you have overcome?
You should be afraid
You should have fear
And if you don’t, you are living within your comfort zone.
My greatest fear is letting people down
It make me lose sleep and keeps me awake at night BUT it’s not a bad thing.
Thins fear drives me to learn more, to fine-tune my skills and to live up to the doctors creed which is “never knowingly to harm”
I hope I never ever overcome this fear, because if I do, I may become complacent, and that would not be good for me or my customers.
Tell us what the word “empower” means to you?
In my mind, it means to live life on your terms.
To decide what should and shouldn’t be done, to take action and to accept responsibility for the results.
To experience empowerment, you can’t be a victim of life….here are 5 things you can do today
- Eliminate BLAME from your life
- Stop making EXCUSES about why you don’t have what you want
- Let go of NEGATIVE emotions from the past
- Get you head out of the sand and Stop living in DENIAL &
- Overcoming a SCARCITY mindset (I promise you there is enough for everyone)
To gain empowerment, you have to become a winner….here are 5 things you can do today
- Focus on the POSITIVE because your thoughts influence 95% of your feelings
- Accept RESPONSIBILITY, when you say “I am responsible” you feel in control
- Be OPTIMISTIC! Why? Because you become what you think about.
- Have VISION for your future and the promised land you are taking your people to &
- Seek EXCELLENCE (not perfection) excellence is about doing the best you can right now with what you’ve got.
What has been one of the biggest business ideas you have had and how did you have the courage to implement it?
To launch a program called 100 X DNA Masterclass
I had to bring teams of people together, experts in their fields, investors, resources from across the planet together in one place to make my dream become a reality.
The courage came from betting on myself.
My grandfather was a gambler, and he told me “the house always wins”
FYI….I am the house, my foundations are solid, my work ethic is unrivalled.
So I put my money where my mouth is and it paid off for everyone involved.
Running your own business can be scary. Success requires moments of courage to push through to the next level, please tell us one of the moments you have had to push through to take your business to the next level?
Covid 19 was a slap in the face.
2019 was one of my best financial year, I’d just had my highest income earning consulting gigs, i’d just spoken to more than 1,000 people on stage here in Taiwan, everything was going up and up!
During Covid i could not return to Australia to run my company, i was stuck in taiwan.
In 2020 I had to both exit my company structure and exit a franchise business i owned.
It was tough
We lost a ton of money
The investment i’d been making in the business now became worthless and there was no saleable assets.
I had to reinvent my entire business model from the ground up. I had to beg and borrow money to survive the crisis.
It was not easy
It was not fun
It was a very testing time
Tell us what attributes you feel make a good leader in business today?
By far it is the most important skill of the leader.
Imagine a leader who had not confidence
Imagine a leader who could not manage their emotions in times of a crisis
Imagine a leader who had no resileincy and rolled over when the going get tough.
it’s impossible to imagine a ‘leader’ like that, unfortnently we know too many.
The best leaders are emotionally intelligent
They are confident within themselves
They are cool in times of a crisis &
They are resilient, it doesn’t matter what you through at them, it doesn’t matter how many times they get knocked down, they just keep getting back up and try again.
What is your favourite quote about empowerment?
You can’t give what you don’t have!
A leader who has not accepted responsibility can not delegate responsibility.
You can’t give what you don’t have!
What advice would you give to anyone wanting to start their own business?
Are you ready?
Business is going to be the greatest test of your life and you need to be ready.
You are going to have to face your fears, your doubts, your limiting beliefs.
You are going to have to give away security and accept uncertainty.
You are going to have to make sacrifices, not just today and tomorrow, but for life.
You are going to be taken advantage of
You are going to be judged
You are going to leave the comfort zone
You are going to try and fail many times.
Are you ready?
What would be one (1) question you would you ask the person who most inspires you? Also share with us about this person and why they inspire you?
My nine-year-old daughter’s name is Nakita, which means unconquerable and I asked her for advice one day, I asked, “Baby G, what would you do in this situation?”
Dad, “I would ask myself ….what would the Buddha do, and then I would do that.”
and what that means to you is….have faith in yourself and your abilities.
