Dmitrii Kustov – RegexSEO

Categories: Business

Dmitrii is an entrepreneur and the founder of Regex SEO. He has significantly increased the online presence of well-known brands like Tulsa Federal Credit Union, United Salt Corporation, Dignity Memorial, CPAP.com, Synavax, Portella, Happy Hiller and more. Currently, as the Internet Marketing Director for Regex SEO, he is helping businesses large and small grow their presence online through creating custom digital marketing campaigns and innovative content marketing techniques. His work has appeared on Forbes, MOZ, SEMrush, HackerNoon, and many other high-profile marketing platforms.

In 2015, I was a one-person army with a vision to start a business. Armed with coding and SEO skills, I founded RegexSEO, outsourcing the web design. Eventually, I merged with a web design company owned by my friends. From a small startup, RegexSEO has grown into a successful business today.
Oprah once quoted ‘You’ve got to follow your passion – You’ve got to figure out what it is you love – who you really are. And have the courage to do that. I believe that the only courage anybody ever needs is the courage to follow your own dreams.” Please share, how you had the courage to follow your own dreams.

Tell us what the word “Entrepreneur” means to you?

An entrepreneur is an individual who not only generates great ideas but also creates an environment in which great ideas can thrive.
What has been the biggest lesson you have learned from being an entrepreneur?

The biggest lesson I learned is the importance of the team. Your team is the key. A company doesn’t exist without a team. So my experience is telling me, and I’m sure of the next thing: team members are one of the main ingredients of a successful company.

What inspired you to start your own business, and how did you go about identifying a need in the market that your business could address?

While working in the marketing agency, I realized that the focus was more on profit and less on customer satisfaction. These issues were widespread in the industry and needed to be addressed. That’s how I identified the need in the market and started my own business to address it.

What is your favourite quote about “following your dreams”?

“Go ahead, do something impossible. “ — Seth Godin

What advice would you give to anyone wanting to start their own business?

I’d again use Seth Godin quote -“If it scares you, it might be a good thing to try.”
