Hi I am Megan, founder of Help at Hand Education.
I created Help at Hand after I noticed a gap in the market for simple, effective and quality (also fun!) baby first aid education for little people. I’m Mum to two amazing children a nurse of over 14 years. I have worked as an Emergency Clinical Nurse Educator at one of Melbourne’s metropolitan hospitals, taugh lots of acredited first aid, undergraduate nurses you name it for nurses and I have taught it.
Since the pandemic I wanted to change it up. Hopitals were challenging, burn out was real and the juggle of a shift working mum is nearly impossible. I also had a burning desire to start something of my own.
I saw too many parents overwhelmed and I wanted to change that. So I did.
Hi, I am Megan, I am the founder of Help at Hand Education. I have been a nurse for the past 15 years, working predominantly as a nurse educator teaching nurses of all levels. Since becoming a mum, and after the pandemic. I noticed a real fear in parents about their child’s health and wellness. I decided to change that.
Oprah once quoted ‘You’ve got to follow your passion – You’ve got to figure out what it is you love – who you really are. And have the courage to do that. I believe that the only courage anybody ever needs is the courage to follow your own dreams.” Please share, how you had the courage to follow your own dreams.
Tell us what the word “Entrepreneur” means to you?
I grew up with my father who was and still is an Entrepreneur and although he has been successful its the drive and passion that sparked my interest. Entrepreneur to me is someone with an idea, passion and a drive to succeed at their own business. To have something that you create on your own that not only delivers on what it promises, but creates purpose and drive everyday is why I started.
What has been the biggest lesson you have learned from being an entrepreneur?
Stay positive and speak confidently about the brand you have created. This speaks confidence in others and starts word-of-mouth rolling. It is hard work, it is hard to stay motivated and mistakes will happen. Positivity and hard work does pay off.

What advice would you give to anyone wanting to start their own business?
1. Just start -start talking about it, belive in the idea
2. Invest in branding, brand idenity and get to know who your cutomer is
3. Do not outsource until you can afford it
4. Learn, read all the free content you can, magazines, blogs, webinars etc.
