Tammie Davidson – From Corporate Burn Out To Life On My Terms

Oprah once quoted ‘You’ve got to follow your passion – You’ve got to figure out what it is you love – who you really are. And have the courage to do that. I believe that the only courage anybody ever needs is the courage to follow your own dreams.” Please share, how you had the courage to follow your own dreams.

Tell us what the word “Entrepreneur” means to you?

What has been the biggest lesson you have learned from being an entrepreneur?

My biggest lesson has been to not let imposter syndrome take over your ability to grow and prosper. Our biggest critics are ourselves and part of being an entrepreneur is to push past the hard and uncomfortable parts of business. Additionally having good systems in place is fundamental to ensure smooth operations.

What inspired you to start your own business, and how did you go about identifying a need in the market that your business could address?

After suffering corporate burnout I knew I needed to change my work/life balance. I knew that in the post-COVID-19 epidemic, there was a huge ability to transition to a work-from-home environment. Additionally listening to people talk about how they had no passion for doing the much-needed tasks such as admin as they were not money-making activities for their business combined with my administration background led me to identify a need for small to medium businesses to delegate and outsource.

What is your favourite quote about “following your dreams”?

Be fearless in the pursuit of what sets your soul on fire and be the energy you want to attract.

What advice would you give to anyone wanting to start their own business?

My advice would be to do your research on your industry and put in place systems and process that will benefit your business. Document everything that you do and allow yourself to draw resources from different sources. Don’t be afraid to delegate where it makes sense. Be inspired by industry colleagues but don’t compare yourself. Run your own race at your own pace.
