Thank you for joining us here at The Corporate Escapists. Please introduce yourself to our reader. They love to know about you, your passion, and how you came to find and follow your passion.

After working as an Executive Legal PA, I decided to establish a Virtual Assistant business. Many years later my ability to continue was abruptly halted by emergency spinal surgery. After finding my “new normal” I studied to become a cosmetic chemist and discovered my passion for writing skincare formulas and developing my own line of skincare products.
Oprah once quoted ‘You are where you are in your life, based on what you believe. If you’re not looking at the shadows, what is subconsciously telling yourself you’re not good enough, not worthy enough, not smart enough…you’re not enough, you end up acting out of THAT belief system, and not of what you want to be the truest for yourself.””. How important is it to you to have the belief within ones self?

Belief in ourselves is crucial for personal and professional growth. It enables us to form a positive self-image to embrace challenges and work towards achieving our goals. It empowers us to become more confident, resilient and motivated. Obstacles and setbacks are more easily surmounted.
Tell us what the word “Entrepreneur” means to you?

Entrepreneurship is about thinking outside the box and tackling challenges in a driven, unique manner. It involves the ability to take risks, but in a calculated manner. Creatively adapting to dilemmas in extraordinary ways, and also the ability to create circumstances to make a positive impact on society.
How has the life of being an entrepreneur, changed you?

Being an entrepreneur never has a dull day! The creativity required to problem-solve a plethora of situations is exhilarating. And, of course, how could I not mention bonus of having the freedom to spend more time with our two cheeky dachshunds and tend to their exorbitant needs!
Share you thoughts on the importance of business owners to be a leader in their own life and ensure they have a work/life balance?

“You have to Nourish in order to Flourish”. As entrepreneurs and business owners we need to nourish ourselves physically, emotionally and mentally to continue to flourish. We are able to make better decisions and enjoy increased productivity when we take time from our busy schedule to care for ourselves.
What is your favourite quote about “following your dreams”?

“Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.”
– Winston Churchill

As we progress, obstacles are inevitable, therefore, it’s important to adjust and persevere. The new path might leader to a greater destination than you could have imagined.
What advice would you give to anyone wanting to start their own business?

Thoroughly research the market to make sure you have a unique proposition and clearly identify your difference.

Consistent and attractive branding gives a professional approach right from the early days.

Be flexible and willing to adapt in response to changing market conditions.

Have fun and enjoy the ride!
