Kris Pim – Transforming To Lead

Categories: Business, Coaching

Hi, I’m Kris Pim. I moved to Australia from Indonesia with nothing but my skill as a Mining Engineer, which brought me to a Technical Services General Manager. I came from nothing and could work and contribute to the country. I will do it again.

Oprah once quoted ‘You’ve got to follow your passion – You’ve got to figure out what it is you love – who you really are. And have the courage to do that. I believe that the only courage anybody ever needs is the courage to follow your own dreams.” Please share, how you had the courage to follow your own dreams.

Tell us what the word “Entrepreneur” means to you?

What has been the biggest lesson you have learned from being an entrepreneur?

For me, my previous corporate job with a salary scheme is only a fantasy and only a short-term thing. I will keep going until I’ve achieved my BIG dream and am aware being an entrepreneur is a long-term game and my future. And I need to be comfortable as I am doing something entirely different from others around me.

What inspired you to start your own business, and how did you go about identifying a need in the market that your business could address?

As someone who has managed a highly professional and diverse team in the Mining Company for over a decade, I understand how overwhelming it can be for those intimidated by technical individuals and thus avoid leadership roles. That’s why I’m here to help. My question will be, “What if it were possible?”

What is your favourite quote about “following your dreams”?

Life is too short, and I will work towards achieving my Big dreams while enjoying it. It is not easy, but possible as long as I keep going and remember the impact I will make on the people I love and this beautiful world.

What advice would you give to anyone wanting to start their own business?

If you always have been successful throughout your life. You have to be comfortable with failures while building your business. That is how we learn. Once we fail quickly (don’t wait until it is significant and costly), we can learn from it to improve. So, it would be best to keep building and growing your business.
