Jamie R. Wright – Advocate And Activist And True Inspiration

In 2020, Jamie founded Jamie R. Wright, LLC with a vision to eradicate domestic violence in Communities of Color. As an advocate and activist, Jamie’s mission is to provide survivor- led awareness, empowerment, and advocacy to Communities of Color impacted by domestic violence. Jamie has appeared on 60 Minutes, BBC News, NBC, CBS, Fox26, and numerous podcasts; and featured in various articles around the world. Jamie has also appeared on The Doctors and HGTV’s, House Hunters, TV show.

As a humanitarian, Jamie gives a portion of her proceeds and proudly serves on the Board of Directors for the Houston Area Women’s Center (HAWC) and Unsilenced Voices (USV); both are non-profit organizations that serve communities impacted by domestic violence. Jamie also serves on the Coalition for the Homeless of Houston/Harris County, Steering Committee.
Through her humility, Jamie continues to inspire the hearts and minds of thousands to create a new lens and conversation concerning domestic violence and the emotional, mental, financial, and physical impact(s) of it.

Hi Everyone, my name is Jamie R. Wright. I am a proud native of NE Oklahoma and currently live in Houston, Texas!

I am the mother of two adult daughters and I love traveling, reading, volunteering, and DFW Swingout Dancing.

Oprah once quoted ‘You’ve got to follow your passion – You’ve got to figure out what it is you love – who you really are. And have the courage to do that. I believe that the only courage anybody ever needs is the courage to follow your own dreams.” Please share, how you had the courage to follow your own dreams.

Tell us what the word “Entrepreneur” means to you?

What has been the biggest lesson you have learned from being an entrepreneur?

The biggest lesson I have learned being an entrepreneur is to intentionally work ‘on’ my business, not ‘in’ my business; learn to delegate/empower others.

What inspired you to start your own business, and how did you go about identifying a need in the market that your business could address?

What inspired me to start my own business is the opportunity to help myself and others create financial resources to provide for our families.

I identified a need in the market by attending business networking events and entrepreneur-based classes/seminars.

What advice would you give to anyone wanting to start their own business?

Give yourself grace along the journey because you’ll absolutely need it to run the race!
