I’m a recovering lawyer, people-pleaser and control addict who had to hit burnout – twice – in order to learn to regulate my nervous system and unravel my Good Girl conditioning. I’m an Associate Director by day and a women’s empowerment coach – basically at all other times!
Oprah once quoted ‘You are where you are in your life, based on what you believe. If you’re not looking at the shadows, what is subconsciously telling yourself you’re not good enough, not worthy enough, not smart enough…you’re not enough, you end up acting out of THAT belief system, and not of what you want to be the truest for yourself.””. How important is it to you to have the belief within ones self?
It’s important to understand that 80% of the communication happening in your body is from your gut, to your brain. Once you start working with your nervous system, you can start to really unravel those subconscious beliefs and thoughts that have kept you playing small. Tackling your limiting beliefs through your nervous system is the key.
Tell us what the word “Entrepreneur” means to you?
Someone who is passionate about the impact they can create in the world, joyfully collaborating with other likeminded people and co-creating a better life for themselves and those they serve.
How have you been able to incorporate self care in your life?
I practice what I teach – through meditation, mindfulness, somatic experiencing techniques, journalling and so much more, I make space for each season in my life.
Share you thoughts on the importance of business owners to be a leader in their own life and ensure they have a work/life balance?
You cannot give from an empty cup. This is why I am passionate about helping high-performing career and business women reconnect with their desires, rewire their nervous system and create a life that lights them up without burning them out.
What is your favourite quote about inspiration?
“We cannot solve problems with the kind of thinking we employed when we came up with them.” — Albert Einstein
What advice would you give to anyone wanting to start their own business?
You were given your dreams because you have the resources to make them happen. Be very discerning who you share your dreams with before they have fully taken root. Protect that vision, and keep it close until it is stronger and clearer, because life is full of naysayers and doom-mongers.
Recognise that sometimes it will take a long time to come to fruition. Make space for the vision to take shape. Your dream for your business has its own energy so allow it to fully form into what it desires to be, and to be channel through you. Make space for it to be better than you ever imagined.
