Thank you for joining us here at The Corporate Escapists. Please introduce yourself to our reader. They love to know about you, your passion, and how you came to find and follow your passion.
I am a woman wholeheartedly living my ‘why’… to “live a life of least regret and most joy, and help others who are ready do the same”. My passion developed over a life-time of caring for others, witnessing many live unfulfilled lives and often dying, including my parents, with regrets.
Bob Proctor once quoted ‘To believe in the things you can see and touch is no belief at all. But to believe in the unseen is both a triumph and a blessing”. How important is it to you to have the belief within one’s self?
Believing in the unseen is essential to growth and expansion. I help make ‘the practical mystical and the mystical practical’ by blending a variety of modalities and teachings to help others achieve at conscious and unconscious levels. I nurture belief in the innate goodness of others by starting with myself.
Tell us what the word “Entrepreneur” means to you?
I see an entrepreneur as someone who plants a seed of opportunity based on a deep passion or desire and nurtures it to fruition. This requires a willingness to be brave, commitment to following through despite challenges, a sense of creativity and trust and belief in yourself.
What has been one of the biggest business ideas you have had and how did you have the trust and hope within yourself to implement it?
My best idea for me personally was expanding my work through collaborations with others. This supports my highest value and core need for connection and enables a greater sharing of resources and leads. I am a great believer in 1+1=3, and working in collaboration with the right people achieves this.
Running your own business can be scary. Success requires moments of trust and hope to push through to the next level. Tell us one of the moments you have had to push through to take your business to the next level?
I made the decision transition from a longstanding career to expand my own business to fulltime. Three days later Covid hit. This required me to first be kind to myself, let go of Plan A, then get creative and look at other avenues for personal and professional growth.
What is your favourite quote about inspiration?
A ship in safe in the harbour, but that is not what ships are built for.
What advice would you give to anyone wanting to start their own business?
Surround yourself with people who will cheer you on. Don’t believe you can do everything yourself, share the load. Have strategies in place to help you ride the waves. Never, ever beat yourself up.
